Total Rewards Manager
LOCATION: Downtown Toronto | Navacord Corporate Office
REPORTING TO: SVP, Human Resources
Position Overview:
Navacord, a leading insurance brokerage firm, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our
team as a Total Rewards Manager. As the Total Rewards Manager, you will play a vital role in designing,managing and administering Navacord’s equity plans and programs – which are key to Navacord’s aggressive
growth plans – including, among other things, executing on the issuance of options and other equity program
offerings and monitoring the performance of recipients as against vesting criteria and of the broader programs
more generally. You will also support the administration and evolution of its benefits and total rewards programs. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of a dynamic organization and drive the implementation and optimization of our total rewards programs.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Equity Plan / Program Management:
- Overall administration of Navacord’s equity plans and programs (share purchase, options, etc.), including, day-to-day administration and oversight of equity grants, related agreements / documents, vesting / exercise and all associated tracking.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders within the HR team and in the Finance and Legal teams to ensure all equity-related transactions are processed accurately and timely and to facilitate effective data / document sharing amongst them.
• Manage, review, and optimize overall compensation and bonus plans which could include
Executive Total Rewards Statements, Stakeholder Financial Models, and Equity Schedules.
• Conduct regular audits to verify data accuracy and integrity and make recommendations for
improvements as needed.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and trends related to equity plans and programs, and
proactively suggest enhancements to optimize plan / program design and administration.
Equity Plan / Program & Total Rewards Program Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Collect and analyze data related to equity plan / program utilization, vesting / exercise, and other
relevant metrics. impacts and in connection licensing activities more generally, including, by providing relevant informational support and more generally. - Prepare reports and presentations summarizing plan performance and key insights for senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Provide recommendations based on data analysis to improve equity plan / program effectiveness, drive engagement, and align rewards with organizational goals.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive framework to monitor the performance of Navacord’s total rewards programs, including equity plans.
Equity Plan and Program Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure equity plan and program compliance with regulatory requirements, including any relevant
tax and securities laws and accounting standards. - Prepare and distribute required paperwork in connection with grants under equity plans and programs (share purchase and options), vesting / exercise of such rights, and the termination of grants.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for all equity-related activities and transactions.
- Collaborate with Legal and Finance teams to ensure accurate reporting of equity-related plans and offerings.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR, Finance and Legal, to align equity plans / programs with broader total rewards strategies and organizational objectives.
- Provide expertise and guidance on equity plan / program design, administration, and
communication to support business needs and attract, retain, and motivate top talent. - Serve as a point of contact for employees, answering inquiries related to equity plans / programs,
benefits, and broader total rewards programs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. A relevant master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CHRL, CEBS) is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in total rewards management, equity plan administration, or a
related field. - Strong understanding of equity plan design principles, compliance requirements, and
accounting/tax implications. - Proficient in data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint) to create comprehensive
presentations and reports. - Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex
information to various stakeholders. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends and propose data-driven solutions.
- Strong organizational, and drafting skills, including a rapid, problem-solving mindset.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices related to equity plans and total
rewards programs. - Experience with equity plan administration software or HRIS systems is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
